Oh, and you can also check out the Dubai Mall next door, and if you are not into shopping, you can skate away at the Olympic-sized ice rink, or check out the underwater zoo that’s located in the mall. There’s just so much packed around here.

Note: Best spot for pictures with Burj Al Arab is the Souk Madinat at sunset time. Shopping at the Souk and an abra ride in the waterways defintiely a bonus.

Hatta
Is the perfect day trip if you are looking to ditch the urban skyscraper scenes for stunning natural landscapes. Located in the Hajar mountains bordering Oman, this picturesque enclave offers a range activities for adventure enthusiasts. You can start with either hiking to the Hatta sign, a cousin to the Hollywood sign in California or engage in activities at the Wadi Hub, an adventure center offering ziplining, wall climbing and an obstacle course. Hatta Dam is a must visit, where you can be surrounded by the scenic backdrop of the Hajar Mountains as you kayak or paddle board, definitely a top experience to have while you are there. Beyond this, if you have time, would highly recommend you explore camping and mountain biking in the area.
You can get to Hatta on Hatta Express Bus for 25 AED from Dubai Mall. It runs every two hours from 7am sharp and drops you at the Hatta Bus station where you can hop on to a bus that will take you to all major spots in Hatta.
Abu Dhabi
If you are based in Dubai, an easy day trip covers most important attractions of the Capital. You can start your day trip by visiting Qasr Al Watan, the presidential place, which is an architectural masterpiece offering a glimpse into the political and governing traditions of the UAE. Then head over to the opulent Emirates hotel, which is a symbol of luxury and if it interests you, do enjoy hightea or a meal in one of its restaurants. You cannot miss the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque on this trip. I highly recommend you go here after 3pm, this way you will be able to soak up the golden hour and see the mosque light up in blue which is quite a sight to behold.
If time permits, you can check out Ferrari World, which features the world’s fastest roller coaster and water world on Yas Island. Or head to Saadiyat Island for the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the whole island is dedicated to arts and culture.
Old Dubai
Explore neighbourhoods such as Al Fahidi District and Al Seef which was established in 1890 by affluent persian merchants who were drawn to trade opportunities set up by the government. The UAE government relocated the locals to preserve the rich heritage of the traditional houses made out of stone, gypsum, teak and wood. You will find narrow alleyways, wind towers that were used to cool down the houses back then are scattered around the neighbourhood here. You can walk by the banks of Dubai Creek, explore cafes at as the sun sets and the city lights rise or stroll around the souks set up in the old town district.
Note: If you are looking for souvenirs, do not buy here. You will find cheaper options at bargain shops like Day to Day and Green House.
You can also head over to gold and spice souk across the creek.
